Breton
88,000 pages of technical manuals, about 500 kg of paper, inside a branded app available worldwide, offline too.
About Breton
Since 1963, Breton has designed and manufactured machines and plants for stone and metal processing, with a commercial presence in over 100 countries and more than 1,700 registered patents.
The challenge
Breton builds plants up to 300 meters long for processing natural stone, marble and metals, sold all over the world. Each machine travels with an enormous body of technical documentation: thousands of operation and maintenance manuals, in several languages, to keep constantly up to date and available to technicians and customers, often in plants where connectivity is not guaranteed. On paper, all of this means printing and shipping costs and the constant risk of outdated versions.
The solution
With MobileReplica, Breton created its own branded app, DOCmobile: catalogs, brochures, manuals and instructions are indexed word by word and available offline too, on tablet, smartphone and computer. Full-text search finds the right procedure in seconds, updates arrive automatically and documents stay protected on the device. The same app speaks up to four languages.
The results
- 1,000+multilingual manuals (up to 4 languages)
- 88,000+organized pages (about 500 kg of paper)
- 10,000,000+indexed and searchable words
The figures refer to the technical documentation Breton manages with MobileReplica (source: Breton case study).
